Resumo

A radical mechanism for the fast cis-trans isomerization of (1) is suggested by results obtained with the parent compound. By H abstraction (e.g. from the solvent) it forms the (Me3Si)2CH⊙C(SiMe3)2 radical, detectable by ESR spectroscopy.
