ResumoThe Types of Simuliidae in the Diptera Collection of the Zoological Museum, Berlin (Diptera : Simuliidae) In the course of the new arrangement and cataloguing of the collection material, the types of the Diptera family Simuliidae have been covered and registered. The systematic arrangement and structure are based on the catalogue of CROSSKEY (1987). The Simuliidae collection of the Zoological Museum in Berlin contains 819 type specimens (including 55 holotypes) of 179 species. Most of the nominal species were described by ENDERLEIN and the remainder by ROUBAUD, EDWARDS and TONNOIR. Furthermore there are various species described by AUSTEN, BECKER, CORTI, DE MEIJERE, DE MEILLON, DYAR & SHANNON, FRIEDERICHS, KOLLAR, LOEW, LUNDSTRÖM, MACQUART, MEIGEN, SKUSE, SMART, STONE, V. ROSER and WYGODZINSKY. The type specimens were collected in all zoogeographical regions, especially in South America, Africa and Europe. The types are listed here in the systematical order, with bibliographical data. Furthermore, the indication of type locality, collector, date of capture and remarks on the condition of the specimens are given.
