ResumoTake the rough without the smooth: The electrodeposition of patterned metal microelectrodes on a chip-based platform led to biosensors with varying sensitivity according to the degree of surface nanostructuring, which could be controlled systematically (see picture). The sensitivity of microelectrodes with highly nanostructured surfaces was superior to that of smooth microelectrodes.
