Resumo

The construction, mathematical modeling, and experimental verification of the design of a magnetizing fixture for a planar eight-pole epoxy-bonded neodymium-iron-boron magnet are reported. A capacitor discharge magnetizer is used to produce a high current pulse of short duration in this fixture. It is found that the parasitic resistance and inductance of the magnetizer outweigh that of the fixture and prevent efficient energy transfer. A field of 2.7 T has, however, been developed in this fixture. The resulting value of magnetic remanence is approximately 95% of the maximum achievable value. >
