A new species of Charinus is described from the Olhos d’Agua cave, in Itacarambi, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Hitherto seven other species were known from this country. The new species is the second troglobiont Charinus from Brazil. It has only tiny median eye spots (sometimes absent), reduced lateral eyes, the ventral corner of the prolateral face
