Resumo

The present investigation has been carried out in Govindgarh Lake located in Rewa district, Madhya Pradesh. Primary productivity and physico-chemical parameters were estimated from July 2011 to June 2012. Gross primary production values ranged between 450 to 3950 mg C/m 3 /d, Net primary production ranged between 275 to 3200 mg C/m 3 /d, and Community respiration ranged from100 to 1000 mg C/m 3 /d. GPP, NPP and CR was higher in summer season due to fa- vourable water temperature leading towards higher photosynthetic activity as well as metabolic rate. The primary productivity was influenced by various physico-chemical factors.
