Resumo

Oh, lost one on the stretcher When did life go so wrong? When did a jigger and a sip or a snort or a needle become more than a ride on a swing? When did the wonder, the joy of your life fade? Was there no gentle touch of love? Where was the hug to calm the fears, to ease the pain? When did life go so wrong? I look upon you head held by the stretcher's cold bar of steel, there in your tortured dreams, The fear, the pain are dulled by your drugs, yet, in anger, you strike out. The pain you do not want to feel, your heart has ceased to grieve the loss of gentle love. We dull your pain with another drug to stop your anger and calm you down. Did you ever feel the gentle touch of love? What are we to do with the man lying on the stretcher, head held by the cold bar of steel? How can we ease your pain? How can we give you hope for your tortured soul? Love through our gentle touch of care. Submissions to this column are welcomed and encouraged.
