Considering the importance of water and the need for knowing the places of high rainfall rates, aimed for an efficient water resources management, this paper deals with the analysis of the space distribution of the long term average annual rainfall in the Pajeu River Basin (Pernambuco State). The geostatistic and the kriging method were used, based on observed rainfall series in the basin. Interpolation maps were performed, and also calculation of the estimates errors. The actual knowledge of the rainfall pattern has been confirmed in the area.
