Resumo

The action on P.penetrans endospores of sodium hypochlorite at different concentrations of active chlorine was evaluated. Treatments at different concentrations of active chlorine drastically affected the attachment to M.javanica juveniles, mainly in concentrations above 0.125%. The morphological study showed changes in the structure of the endospores, beginning with the dissolution of the parasporal fibers in sodium hypochlorite at 0.125% of active chlorine and reaching the total destruction of them at 0.5%. One minute of immersion of petri dishes contaminated with Pasteuria penetrans in sodium hypochlorite 0.5% of active chlorine was enough to eliminate 85% of the bacterial endospores and 15 minutes for a completely eliminated them.
