Resumo

Abstract Exemplifying results from AES study of high temperature oxidation of dilute copper‐aluminium alloys, under low pressures of oxygen, are presented to demonstrate the feasibility of using changes in relative intensities of oxygen Auger lines as a diagnostic test for oxidation selectivity, at the very early stages of the reaction.
