To the Editor: Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is an inflammatory arthritis associated with psoriasis with an estimated prevalence in the United States of 0.25%1. The prevalence of PsA in patients with psoriasis is 30%2. Since the prevalence of psoriasis in North America is 2%, the estimated population prevalence of PsA of 0.25% is probably an underestimate3. PsA is thus underdiagnosed. This may be due to the lack of recognition of the condition in family practice and dermatology practice.
