ResumoOf the sixteen species of aquatic Hyphomycetes previously described from decaying alder leaves (Ingold, 1942), thirteen are now recorded on decaying submerged oak leaves. In addition two new species, Dendrospora erecta n.gen., n.sp. and Piricularia aquatica n.sp., are described. These are regular members of the aquatic oak-leaf flora of the streams in Swithland Wood during the spring. Tricladium anomalum n.sp. is described growing on decaying submerged leaves of Typha latifolia from a pond. The distribution of aquatic Hyphomycetes is briefly discussed, and it is suggested that they are probably very common on submerged decaying leaves of trees and shrubs.
