Abstract Aza‐Baylis–Hillman reactions have attracted much attention over the past decade. This review concentrates on discussion of the origins of and progress in aza‐Baylis–Hillman reactions, including the development of catalysts and substrate scopes, mechanistic study, asymmetric reactions, and further transformations of the products.
