ResumoRecent empirical evidence (period 2003-2009) showed that Zacatecas-Guadalupe city, Mexico, consumer service activities (classified as high consumption: static technology and cellular telephony, satellite television, film industry) were determined that new locations of capital and work in the city to areas with greater accessibility and urban facilities. They were also services and luxury goods shops which required greater concentration of capital and less dependence on labor. Moreover, evidence that economic activity in the city is reduced capacity in economies of scale, scope and agglomeration. This strengthens and consolidates local productive restructuring process that is manifested world long to detriment of labor, conditions of living of large sections of society as a result of underemployment, unemployment, insecurity.
