ResumoInterfacial bonding and stability of γ-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane with silica surfaces have been studied by means of infrared spectroscopy. The addition of n-propylamine enhances silanization of γ-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane to silica surfaces in normal aliphatic hydrocarbons, and cyclohexane yields a more water-resistant silica-silane bond, and improves the diametral tensile strength of the composite.
