Resumo

Abstract The parameters of the spin‐Hamiltonian of Gd 3+ in TeO 2 single crystals are determined and the ESR spectra of polycrystalline TeO 2 :Gd 3+ samples are compared with those of Gd 3+ ions on Te sites in amorphous TeO 2 ‐V 2 O 5 compounds. It turns out that the microenvironment of the tellurium ion in the amorphous samples is similar to that in crystalline TeO 2 . Further ESR signals of Fe 3+ ions in amorphous TeO 2 ‐V 2 O 5 are discussed.
