ResumoHitherto, venesection has had to be regarded as the method of choice for treating haemochromatosis. Now, however, we have another means of withdrawing iron from the human organism. The great advantage of this new method over venesection is that it can also be employed in cases of transfusion haemosiderosis, haemolytic anaemia, and sideroachrestic anaemia, as well as in the many different forms of secondary siderosis.
