ResumoIn the so called “Bolonian Process”, teacher training tends to be considered a “crosscurricular objective” that each country will implement according to their own peculiarities. This implementation, among other aspects, will affect the mentoring in the practicum of the graduate and postgraduate new studying plans of the Teachers Training Degrees. In order to fulfill the process in the best way possible, we put in a tender for the foundings of the empirical investigation on this theme, in the present abstract. In order to carry out the review of the empirical literature, both national and international, we choose a qualitative design utilizing a “systematic” and “narrative” methodology. The data source was constituted by 137 investigation articles selected by the data basis: Educational Resources Information Centre (ERIC), British Education Index (BEI), Internet Society (ISOC), as well as the minutes of the ten International Symposiums on the Practicum, which took place in Poio (Pontevedra). Once the articles were selected, we passed on to a “factual” and “descriptive” coding. The descriptive results obtained show that, first, the benefits that mentoring contributes to mentors: professional and personal development, learning (reflection) and satisfaction at work; and for the “mentored”: support for their professional development, help for the carrying out of learning (reflection) and socialization. And second, the necessary conditions to make the performance of mentoring “effective”. Among them, the delimiting of the mentor’s functions, the selection of mentors, and the assignation of “mentored”, the mentor’s formation and the mentoring strategies. We end up mentioning the work limitations, both methodological and personal.
