Abstract Inulin was succinoylated by reaction with succinic anhydride using 4‐dimethylaminopyridine as acylation catalyst. The corresponding polyacid was activated by treatment with 1,1′‐carbonyldiimidazol and subsequently coupled with the N‐glycyl derivative of procainamide.
