Abstract The crystal and molecular structure of racemic diphenanthro[4,3‐a; 3′, 4′‐o] picene is described. The molecule has a non‐crystallographic twofold axis of symmetry in good approximation, and the two symmetry‐related hexahelicene‐like halves of the molecule are very similar in structure to hexahelicene itself.
