Learn more.Copy URL Share a linkShare onEmailFacebookTwitterLinkedInRedditWechat Abstract The largest discrete cyclic oxothioanion [W16S16O16(OH)16(H2O)4(C5H6O4)2]4 − was prepared by acido–basic self-condensation of the [W2O2S2]2+ building block in the presence of glutarate ions [C5H6O4]2−. The solid-state characterization (X-ray diffraction) revealed two conformations for the templated-ring which can be viewed as two snapshots of the dynamic of the wheel in solution (see picture).
