Field strength characteristic relationships, applicable to the double modulation type of directive radio beacon when modulation is applied, are developed. Graphs showing the characteristic patterns which govern the indications of the receiving apparatus as it moves around in space about the transmitter are given for three typical sets of transmitter adjustments.
