Resumo

KCN IV near 25°C and 50 kbar is rhombohedral, space group D53d — R¯3m, with arh=3·727 , α=85° 58′ and Z=1. The structure appears to be the same as that of CsCN II, with the cyanide ions behaving as ellipsoids of rotation with radii of 2·22 and 1·69closely similar to those obtaining in CsCN II. KCN IV cannot be thermodynamically stable at high pressures near absolute zero.
