His research interests include parallel and distributed computing, design and analysis of high-performance computer architectures and their assessments, operating systems, software environments for parallel processing, scheduling theory, performance modelling and evaluation, and distributed multimedia systems. Dr Ahmad received a BSc degree in electrical engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, Pakistan, in 1985. He received his MS degree in computer engineering and PhD degree in computer science from Syracuse University in 1987 and 1992, respectively. He has served on the committees of various conferences.
