The parents of a 20-year-old man found their son naked in an upstairs bathroom, covered in blood after the self-castration of his testicles and scrotum with a serrated steak knife. The man's mother discovered him singing hymns as he lay in the bathtub “in a pool of blood.” He had placed the amputated parts on the side of the tub.
