ResumoThis paper proposes Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) based approach for light intensity control in a Photo Voltaic (PV) supply fed LED lighting system.The output power regulation of LED lighting system is formulated as an optimization problem and the output power regulation is carried out using a real time PSO technique.The concept is first simulated and verified and subsequently implemented on a 16-bit PIC microcontroller.The proposed method possesses the major advantage of system independence while regulating the output power.The computed and measured results clearly illustrate the effectiveness of the new method.
