ResumoCOMPARISON OF THE WĘGLOWIC MARLS WITH MARLS FROM THE COMARNIC AREA (RUMANIA) The Weglowiec marls, being an object of comparison with the Comarnic marls, belong to the Subsilesian unit of the Polish Flysch Carpathians. They are pelitic, plastic, and calciferous, brown-red and green in colour and due to the strong folding, they occur as variegated series. The microfauna from both the Weglowiec and Comarnic marls listed in the Polish text and in Figs. 2 and 3. The fauna from the middle pad of the Comarnic marls corresponds to a foraminifer assemblage of the middle part of the Weglowiec marls. The Comarnic assemblage consists of the same foraminifer species as those occurring within the Weglowiec marls, in the horizon mentioned above. The discussed part both of the Comarnic and the Weglowiec marIs is of upper Campanian and lower Maestrichtian age. This is proved by the foraminifer assemblage previously mentioned. Thus, both the Weglowiec and the Comarnic roads disclose not only lithological, but also faunal resemblance, a fact implying that these were deposited in the similar marine environments and at the same period of time.
