Resumo

Abstract A number of fractionated and unfractionated poly(vinyl chlorides) have been characterized by light scattering, osmometry, and solution viscometry. From the results on fractions it is concluded that the larger molecules contain long branches. For linear fractions the relation between intrinsic viscosity in tetrahydrofuran at 25°C. and weightaverage molecular weight measured by light scattering is: [η] = 1.63 × 10 −4 M w 0.766 dl./g.
