ResumoThis paper presents the results of a survey of women optometrists in Australia. Statistics presented are concerned with age, geographic distribution, qualifications, involvement in optometric practice and continuity of service. Special difficulties relating to women are discussed, such as problems of equality, family management and the possible need for refresher courses. Conclusions are drawn regarding the ideal job for women and prospects for future employment.
