ResumoThis essay proposes a comparative study of Im Westen nichts Neues and Imán, the books written in the first third of the 20th century by Erich M. Remarque and Ramón J. Sender about their experience in the battlefield. This article emphasizes the links between these two works and their authors’ personal experience, as well as the way they both condemn the horror and absurdity of war using the same formal and thematic instruments.
