ResumoABSTRACT. Two strongly acidic, ninhydrin‐negative compounds were found in the water soluble fraction of the orb webs of Argiope trifasciata (Lucas) and Argiope aurantia (Forskål). One of these is a derivative of taurine. Aninhydrin‐positive GABA derivative, gabamide, also exists in the water‐soluble fraction of the web.
