Resumo

The finding of three specimens of Balistes polylepis Steindachner, 1876, in San Antonio (33º35'S), Santo Domingo (33º37'S) and Cartagena (33º32'S) and one specimen of Sphoeroides lobatus Steindachner, 1870 in Matanza (33º58'S) and one specimen of Mola mola Linnaeus, 1758 and three specimens of M. ramsayi (Giglioli, 1833), to the west of Las Cruces (33º31'S) increases the known geographic distribution for these species from northern Chile to central Chile.Their presence is associated to El Niño phenomena of 1982-1983 and 1997-1998.
