Image Enhancement Techniques

An improved NTSC standard, super NTSC, which rivals HDTV image quality is proposed. The strengths and weaknesses of the NTSC standard are reviewed, and line-structure visibility and resolution images are examined. NTSC's deficiencies, namely, cross color, cross luminance, and limited chroma bandwidth are discussed. A new encoder, the 2H encoder, is presented, and the improvements it provides are described. >
