We’ll analyse the poetry Le Cygne of the Tableaux Parisiens cycles of Lers Fleurs du Mal to understand a little more what were the Baudelaire esthetical and political options. So we’ll approach of Dolf Oehler, who did a reading of the poetry seeing it as an allegorical narrative in the 1848 Revolution’s episodes occurred. Valery expose us the problem with property: what is the Baudelaire’s place in the literary arts of the 19th. Century’s half? No. Baudelaire didn’t share the same ideals of Hugo, Sand and Musset, his contemporaries. In several parts of his texts about art reviews we’ll find comments about the “modernity” that distances him of romanticism. The Baudelaire’s “modernity” brings the contrary in himself, the resistance to modernity. The poet’s “novelty” is despaired, just the spleen sense, in French; it’s pulled out of the catastrophe, of the tomorrow disaster. O problema de Baudelaire podia entao – deveria entao – ser colocado assim: “ser um grande poeta, mas nao ser nem Lamartine, nem Hugo, nem Musset”. Nao digo que essa intencao fosse consciente, mas existia necessariamente em Baudelaire, e mesmo era essencialmente Baudelaire. Era sua razao de Estado. Nos campos da criacao, que sao tambem os do orgulho, a necessidade de se distinguir e inseparavel da propria existencia. Baudelaire escreve em seu projeto prefacio das Flores do Mal: “Poetas ilustres dividiram entre si, durante muito tempo, as provincias mais floridas do campo poetico etc. Farei portanto algo diferente...” 1 * Jornalista.
