ResumoNot the bidentate amine ligand, but water coordinates to the Li cation in [LiCH(CN) 2 · H 2 O · TMEDA] ∞ 1 (TMEDA = tetramethylethylenediamine), a very unusual structural characteristic for lithiated organic compounds. Inter‐molecular hydrogen bonds between the H atoms of the aqua ligands and the N atoms of TMEDA are observed. 1 is therefore the first water‐complexed lithiated organic compound derived from a CH acid.
