Resumo

Abstract Dipotassium mesitylenedisulfonate dihydrate crystallizes in monoclinic needles, space group P2 1 /c, cell constants a = 7.341, b = 12.330, c = 15.934 Å, β = 94.60°, Z = 4. The overcrowding of substituents in the mesitylenedisulfonic group does not affect the bond lengths, but changes the bond angles, planarity and geometry of the molecule significantly.
