ResumoThe first platinum(II) halogenide compounds containing the (σ3-N,C,N)isophtalaldimine ligand, 2a and 2b, have been prepared via an oxidative addition of the bromoisophthalaldimine ligands 1a and 1b to a Pt(0) precursor. Depending on the imine substituents, the reaction of these compounds with LiC≡CSiMe3 in THF results in a monomeric trans-diorganoplatinum(II) compound (3) or a dimeric cis-diorganoplatinum(II) compound (4). Both 3 and 4 have been characterized by means of an X-ray crystal structure determination.
