Examinam-se, em primeiro lugar, alguns tracos da biografia de Dyonelio Machado com o proposito de verificar, posteriormente, os possiveis nexos existentes entre sua trajetoria de vida e as suas memorias. Neste trabalho, a abordagem do material biografico pauta-se pela rejeicao a interpretacao univoca da trajetoria individual. Para tanto, a leitura do texto biografico e mediada pela - ou confrontada com – autobiografia do autor, por fontes documentais, em particular os anais do parlamento, e pela bibliografia teorica selecionada. Aqui, o conhecimento nao resulta da mera descricao objetiva, mas de um processo de comunicacao entre personagens e de uma relacao permanente e reciproca entre biografia e contexto. A mudanca e precisamente constituida pelas inter-relacoes infinitas. Num segundo momento, posteriormente a interpretacao da biografia de Dyonelio Machado, sao examinados os fragmentos de Memorias de um pobre homem, texto autobiografico do autor que remete, de modo especial, a sua experiencia parlamentar e a sua atuacao como escritor e medico. Palavras-chave : Memorias; biografias; mediacao The mediation of memory in the transit of time in Dyonelio Machado Abstract Examine, firstly, some traces of the biography of Dyonelio Machado for the purpose of verifying, later, the possible links between his life history and his memories. In this paper, the approach of the biographical material is guided by the rejection of univocal interpretation of the individual trajectory. To this end, the biographical reading of the text is mediated by - or faced with - the autobiography of the author, documentary sources, particularly the proceedings of the parliament, and the selected theoretical literature. Here, knowledge is not the result of simple objective description, but a process of communication between characters and an ongoing and reciprocal relationship between biography and context. The change is precisely constituted by the endless interrelationships. Secondly, after the interpretation of the biography of Dyonelio Machado, the fragments of memories of a poor man are examined, the author's autobiographical text which refers, in particular, to its parliamentary experience and his role as writer and physician.
