ResumoElectron spin resonance line widths of Cr 3+ and Mn 2+ were measured in MgO samples doped with <1 mol% of Cr and Mn. The line width was found to change in a predictable way with Cr and Mn concentration. The experimental results show that this technique can be used to measure, rapidly and nondestructively, small concentrations of Cr and Mn in commercial MgO. Nomograms are provided to facilitate interpretation of the results.
