El sindrome de Landau-Kleffner, que fue descrito en 1957, se caracteriza por una afasia infantil ad quirida asociada a un electroencefalo grama anormal en la zona temporal izquierda, que generalmente va acompanada de ataques epilepticos y problemas de conducta. Este tr abajo describe las caracteristicas generales del sindrome a traves del analisis psicologico de un caso que se ha seguido a lo largo de 6 anos. Se exponen y analizan los resultados obtenidos en una serie de pruebas donde se demuestr a el importante deficit que existe en el area verbal y en todas aquellas otras en que lo linguistico cumple un papel muy importante. Se exponen los tr atamientos mas debatidos en la biblio grafia, tomando partida por el educati vo y rehabilitador, finalizando con una muestra de sus lo gros academicos. The Landau-Kleffner syndrome: psycholo gical description of a case. The Landau-Kleffner’s syndr ome, that was described in 1957, is characterized by an acquired children’s aphasia associated to an abnormal electroencephalogram on the left temporal zone, that generally appears with epileptic fits and problems of behavior. This piece of work describes the general characteristics of the syndrome through the psychological analysis of a case that has been follo wed over six years. We state and analyze the r esults of a series of tests that show the serious lack that appears in the verbal area and in those other ar eas where the linguistic aspect plays an important role. We set out the treatments that ha ve been most widely debated in the bibliography, supporting the educative and rehabilitating one and showing its academic achievements.
