ResumoConversation 501 from the Køge Project is analysed for the four adolescent speakers' use of five to six different langauges or varieties. The code choice patterns are shown to function in a range of different ways, all of which can be described as phenomena that are not inherently different from the language use of youth as it is described in youth languages studies. In the conclusion, the article argues that 'bi-lingualism' – understood as something which involves two units of which 'mono-lingualism' only involves one – is meaningless. The multifaceted behaviour of the Turkish-Danish adolescents is languaging, which is in principle the same as what other human beings do.
