Wilson is an Associate Professor of Political Science and International Relations, Psychology, and Black American Studies at the University of Delaware, Newark, DE, USA. He is also the Coordinator of Public Opinion Initiatives at the University of Delaware Center for Political Communication (CPC). Paul R. Brewer is a Professor of Communication and Political Science and International Relations at the University of Delaware, Newark, DE, USA. He is also the Associate Director of Research at the University of Delaware CPC. Previous versions of this paper were presented at the 2012 annual meetings of the Southern Political Science Association in Orlando, FL, USA, and the National Conference of Black Political Scientists in Oak Brook, IL, USA.
