Resumo

In the present paper we study the evolution of the Pano language family vocabulary, using an exponential relaxation model with different ralaxation indexes for each word meaning compared with any random pair of languages, that is, we calculate the individual contribution of each meaning in the estimate of the separation time of the languages. We also discuss the connection of this procedure with Swadesh's glottochronological method (1950).
