ResumoObjective: To examine the criterion validity of lower extremity Motricity Index scores. Design: Retrospective cross-sectional comparison of lower extremity Motricity Index scores and hand-held dynamometer measurements obtained from 15 patients with stroke. Results: For individual actions (ankle dorsiflexion, knee extension and hip flexion) and all actions combined, Pearson correlations were good to excellent ( r = 0.78–0.91), significant ( p < 0.001), and of high power (9%). Conclusions: The findings of this study support the criterion validity of the lower extremity Motricity Index.
