Resumo

Supported by the largest independent German institution for the support of scholarship, the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), the Brahms-Institut at the Musikhochschule Lübeck is working on a catalogue of the letters to and from Johannes Brahms. We expect that this project, the Brahms-Briefwechsel-Verzeichnis (BBV) will become an indispensible tool for Brahms research. Since March 2006 a team of four musicologists has been working on the project. In order to register all letters to and from Brahms, more than 1,000 libraries have already been contacted. But we would also like to reach private collectors who might hold letters relevant to our project. Persons in possession of, or who know the location of, any Brahms correspondence are kindly requested to contact us and support our project. Other enquiries are also welcome.
