ResumoFine structure ofthe spcrmatozoon oftheMellila quillquiesperforala (Echinodermata) of lhe Northern littoral of Brazil.The fine slruclure of lhe spermalozoon in lhe Me/lita quinqllieóper(orata Leske, 1778 was sludied.Collecled from lhe Amazon region, were described by lighl and transmission electron l11icroscopy.The spennatozoon consisted of a acrosol11e complex, nllcleus, four to six l11itochondria, two centrioles and tlagellul11.The acrosOl11e was cOl11posed 01' a acrosome complex, the acrosomal vesicle and the subacrosol11al space.The nllc1eus are composed by dense material.The middle piece contains 4-6 l11itochondri a which are arranged arollnd lhe centrioles, the 9p+O, whose axoneme has the c1assic 9p+2 microtubular construction.
