Resumo

This article reveals the role of women’s empowerment, and as is allows their essential role in the economic, social and environmental becoming in a transformational leadership that allows their voices heard. Arises as a result of the research project called “Community SelfManagement Psychosocial Development of Hormiguero Township of the municipality of Santiago de Cali (Valle del Cauca) prepared by a group of professors of psychology program at the University Antonio Narino-Cali, who are part of a research group. The results show that in recent decades women have gained important. The discourse of these women Afro-old elderly, is steeped in lore combines both, as a collective knowledge, situated in everyday experiences, and as a tool to facilitate the participation and strengthening of identity.
