ResumoThe alarm reads 4:55 a.m.—time to roll out of bed for another day without waking Sue, my wife and best friend. After brushing and flossing what remains of my original teeth, a new blister on my leg needs to be popped, and a few dressings reapplied before gearing up for a morning run with Clyde, my loyal four-legged running buddy. A bump on the side of a chair in the bedroom rubs a thin patch of skin off my right knee. It will sting in the shower after the run—new sores always do that. Cut the non-adhera dressing, smear it with ointment, tape with Transpore, put on the sweat pants, shoes, and jacket, and Clyde and I are off into the dark, windy chill for a short 2-mile run.
