Resumo

By making a Hermitian ansatz for theK-matrix and solving the resulting equation for the scattering amplitude we derive a model for multiparticle production for which the amplitude can be given in explicit closed form. The amplitude satisfies many-particle unitarity exactly (there is a nonvanishing amplitude for the production of not more thanN particles, whereN is arbitrary but fixed). The requirement of Lorentz invariance is also satisfied. Analyticity properties are discussed and the elastic amplitude is shown to be the boundary value of a single analytic function ofs (s being the centre-of-mass energy squared) having branch points at production thresholds.
