ResumoThis article discusses the significance, for Zambian politics and beyond, of the election of Michael Sata as President of Zambia in what most people have regarded as a free and fair election, and the assumption of the Vice Presidency by Guy Scott, a white and charismatic leader, in racially sensitive Southern Africa. It examines the dynamics of the relationship between the President and the Vice President and explores the lessons that can be learnt from the Zambian experience.
